STAMFORD - A man police say lunged at a teenage girl with a knife appeared in court today.

Police say Ronald Gordon, 47, appeared incoherent when he lunged at the 17-year-old while she was walking near Cloonan Middle School on Friday.

They say three men jumped out of a passing car to stop him from hurting the girl.

One of the Good Samaritans says Gordon told him he was hearing voices in his head before he attacked the teen.

Gordon was charged with attempted assault and ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.  He is being held on $100,000 bond.
