BRIDGEPORT - A truck from Connecticut spilled scrap metal on roadways across three states Tuesday.
New York State Police say the spill caused flat tires for several vehicles.
The truck belongs to Affordable Materials on Harborview Avenue in Bridgeport.
News 12 spoke with employees who say they think someone intentionally took off the pins that hold the tailgate in place, causing materials to fly out of the back of the truck.
Affordable Materials says its driver loaded up in Bridgeport and went through New York on his way to New Jersey and later stopped when he realized the tailgate was open and spilling the scrap metal.
Police say the driver of the truck was ticketed and no one was hurt. Authorities are investigating the situation.
