AG Blumenthal suspends CT plastic surgeon

RIDGEFIELD - A Ridgefield plastic surgeon's license was suspended Friday after state health inspectors found multiple violations at the office.

Attorney General Richard Blumenthal says he and state health inspectors shut down Dr. Teresita Mascardo's office because of dangerous working conditions.

"We've taken this extraordinary step because this facility was plagued by dust, debris, animal droppings, garbage ? making it unsafe as well as unsanitary," Blumenthal says.

The investigation also revealed improper maintenance of medical records and patient confidentiality, Blumenthal says.
