A vote by leaders in Stamford on dozens of new rules regarding animals was put on hold after officials decided there were not enough voting

STAMFORD - A vote by leaders in Stamford on dozens of new rules regarding animals was put on hold after officials decided there were not enough voting members present at the Monday night meeting.

The proposed overhaul of the city's animal control laws would include a $50 fee for breeding dogs, tougher rules about tethering dogs and requiring people to report if they take in a stray animals.

There would also be strict new rules about feeding wild, feral cats.

News 12 is told the 10 pages of proposed rules will be voted on next month.
