STAMFORD - Crews are working hard to clear catch basins after this morning's wet winter storm caused flooding throughout Stamford.

Officials say catch basins have become a big concern because they've been buried beneath snow and ice in many areas, preventing excess water from draining. They say traffic had to be rerouted in some areas due to flooded roadways.

The city is asking residents to pitch in by clearing snow and ice from the basins, hydrants and sidewalks near their homes.
