STAMFORD - Antonio Sandalo, a 7-year-old dirt bike rider, is competing this week in the sport's top amateur event.

Sandalo just started motocross racing last year and has been building a collection of trophies and awards. His father Anthony stars as his coach, pit crew and proud parent.

Sandalo earned a coveted ticket this year to the Amateur National Motocross Championships at the Tennessee ranch of country music star Loretta Lynn.

The event is considered by many to be the heart of motocross and the beginning of a professional career.

In Sandalo's next race, he will be competing on a track three times longer than he's used to against the top 30 kids his age in the country.
