Area firefighters battle 2 blazes overnight

STRATFORD - Stratford fire crews were on the scene of an electrical fire early this morning.

They say a piece of equipment in the Unifirst building on Garfield Avenue started smoking. Crews arrived around 1 a.m. and quickly put out the flames.

Also, Bridgeport fire officials are investigating the cause of an early morning house fire. They say flames broke out on the first floor of a home on Noble Avenue around 1:15 a.m.. Investigators say the house was abandoned.
