WESTPORT - Westport police are searching for an armed robber who is suspected of hitting up restaurants throughout the area just as they are closing up for the night.

They say one incident took place at Red Bean Sushi on Post Road East last night, making neighboring restaurants nervous. Police say that a woman was closing up the restaurant just before 10 p.m. when an armed masked man walked in and demanded cash.

The woman screamed and ran to the back of the store, allowing the robber to walk out with a little more than $100. Police also tell News 12 Connecticut that the description of the robber and the circumstances are very similar to another armed robbery, which took place in Greenwich earlier this month.
