Arrests made in 2 Bridgeport raids

State police say three people are facing charges following two drug and weapon raids in Bridgeport. (4/2/14)

BRIDGEPORT - State police say three people are facing charges today, following two drug and weapon raids in Bridgeport.

The first happened yesterday on Iranistan Avenue and the second was on Maplewood Avenue.

Investigators say they found crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, two semi-automatic handguns, and $4,000 in cash, $70 of which was counterfeit.

Police say they arrested Courtney Christensen, Contanina Dwight and George Smith.

They say the raids were the result of a lengthy investigation into illegal guns and drug dealing in the area.
