Attempted murder case against Michael DeMaio delayed for divorce proceedings

GREENWICH - The case against the Greenwich man accused of beating his wife with a baseball bat will be delayed until the couple's divorce is final.

Police charged Michael DeMaio with attempted murder and assault after they say he attacked his wife in their home last September.

Court documents show she filed for a separation less than three weeks before the attack, which left her with a fractured skull and in a coma.

Her family says she continues to recover.

Meanwhile, DeMaio's lawyer says he hopes to resolve the case before it goes to trial.
