Attempted murder suspect Michael DeMaio wants to change jails

GREENWICH - The Greenwich man accused of trying to kill his wife with a baseball bat wants to be moved from the jail he's in.

Michael DeMaio's attorney said yesterday he should be moved because of medical issues and has requested a psychiatric evaluation.

New details about DeMaio came out in court including that he has reportedly been out of work since undergoing surgery to remove a brain tumor in 1989.

DeMaio allegedly attacked his wife during an argument at their Greenwich mansion last week.

Police say she filed for divorce several months ago.

She's still in critical condition.
