BRIDGEPORT - State Sen. Andres Ayala will be sponsoring a new bill in partnership with the NAACP to change the way police can use Tasers.

Ayala says a family of five from his district was wrongly arrested recently, and he's calling on the Bridgeport Police Department to end what he says are its "heavy-handed tactics with regard to Taser guns."

Horace Jennings, one of the members of the family, says he was Tasered even though he made no effort to resist arrest.

Bridgeport police say the family has filed a civilian complaint with the department's internal affairs unit.
