BRIDGEPORT - Parents are watching their wallets as back-to-school sales pick up.
Gabrielle Fludd, the owner of Gumdrop Swap, says she is noticing more shoppers than usual. Customers can use her business to swap clothes and buy new and used items at discount prices.
Many shoppers, however, say they're waiting for sales to pick up toward the end of August and beginning of September.

The International Council of Shopping Centers says shoppers have been holding out until later in the summer.
