MANCHESTER - The CEO of Hartford Distributors, Ross Hollander, held a news conference today to read a prepared statement addressing the cause behind the shooting which left nine people dead.
Hollander told reporters that Omar Thornton, the shooter, was asked to resign after an internal investigation had found he was stealing beer from the company.
Police say that after the meeting, Thornton snapped and went on a shooting spree, killing eight people and wounding two others before finally turning the gun on himself.
Hollander also said that the firing was not racially motivated and that the charges of theft were the sole reason behind his termination.
