WESTON - A Weston man was killed in a hit-and-run crash while riding his bicycle in Bethel over the weekend.

Police say Thomas Steinert-Threlkeld was riding his bicycle home on Sunday when a car turned in front of him and somehow caused him to end up in the roadway, trapped under another car. The driver that caused the accident left the scene. Police and Steinert-Threlkeld's family are urging the driver to come forward. Witnesses describe the car as a medium to dark gray or silver sedan.

Steinert-Threlkeld's wife Kayte says her husband was a journalist and had been an avid cyclist for 20 years. A memorial service will be held Saturday at the Cobb's Mill Inn in Weston.
