MILFORD - Motorcycle riders from across the state came together in Milford today to honor a local Marine who was killed in Iraq.

About 200 people participated in the riding event to remember Cpl. Jordan C. Pierson, 21, of Milford, who died in August 2006 while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq.

His family says Pierson was an avid motorcycle rider. They say the annual event is a reminder of how much people care.

“He was just an incredible human being,” said Beverly Pierson, Jordan’s mother. “I get letters from all over the world about how he affected people.”

Pierson is buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.
