A blind woman is recovering after she was hit by a car in Norwalk yesterday.Investigators say the accident happened by 9 George Ave. near Stew

NORWALK - A blind woman is recovering after she was hit by a car in Norwalk yesterday.

Investigators say the accident happened by 9 George Ave. near Stew Leonard's.

Witnesses say Elizabeth Greenwood was hit by a car while crossing the street.

Police say the driver saw Greenwood step into the street with her cane, but could not stop quickly enough.

Greenwood suffered a broken leg, but is expected to be OK.

No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing.
