HAMDEN - A new poll shows that the Democrats have the lead in the Senate race.

The poll, just released by Quinnipiac University, finds state Attorney General Richard Blumenthal leading Republican Linda McMahon.

In the poll of registered voters, Blumenthal is ahead 54 percent to 37 percent.

The two are fighting to see who will succeed Democratic Sen. Christopher Dodd, who is not seeking re-election.
