Hartford - Richard Blumenthal is urging the American Lobster Management Board to consider the alternatives to a possible five-year ban on lobster fishing south of Cape Cod.

The Attorney General says the ban is "draconian" and if it goes into effect, will devastate folks who earn a living by lobstering.

Some alternatives he proposed are to stop harvesting lobsters with eggs or to stop lobstering in certain selected areas.

The American Lobster Management board is scheduled to meet tomorrow in Rhode Island.
