NORWALK - Sen. Richard Blumenthal says the new federal spending bill will mean a boost to Connecticut's economy.

President Barack Obama signed the $1.1 trillion plan Friday.

Blumenthal says the plan aims to increase funding for the military, including Connecticut-based Sikorsky Aircraft.

The compromise budget will fund the federal government through the end of September.
