NORWALK - The state Board of Regents approved a tuition hike today for all colleges and universities, prompting widespread student protests.

Starting this fall, commuter students will face a 5.1 percent increase, which equates to more than $430. In-state residential students will experience a 4.1 percent increase of nearly $780. 

Students at community colleges will also feel the pinch thanks to a 5.25 percent hike.
