Body of woman found in Saugatuck Harbor in Westport

WESTPORT - Westport police are investigating after the body of a woman was found floating in the Saugatuck Harbor Friday morning.

Police say a man who was out duck-hunting had kayaked out to retrieve a bird when he noticed the body in the area of the Saugatuck Harbor Yacht Club and called for help.

Police say the woman appears to be middle-aged. Her name has not been released.

Authorities say water incidents like this are uncommon in the area, and neighbors tell News 12 Connecticut they are shocked.
