STRATFORD - Police have identified the woman whose body was found floating in the water at Short Beach in Stratford.

The victim has been identified as 42-year-old Amy Golda, of Hamden. She had been reported missing early Friday morning.

Police say Golda's body was found about 150 feet from the shore by a lifeguard at around noon. Emergency crews tried to revive her, but she was pronounced dead at Bridgeport Hospital.

An autopsy is being done to determine the cause of death.
