Break-in at a rare coin store caught on camera

WESTPORT - Police are investigating a break-in at Sam Sloat Coins on the Post Road in Westport this morning.

Westport police say the surveillance video shows two men used rocks to break out the front window just before 3 a.m. this morning.

Officers say they went inside, discovered the targeted cases were empty and left in less than a minute, taking nothing.

The owner of Sam Sloat says it's not the first time someone has broken in, which is why they have a pretty sophisticated security and surveillance system.

Police say both men were wearing gloves, but they recovered some evidence.

The store's owner says they are open for business today, a broken front window the only sign that something happened.
