Break-in at rare coin store in Westport caught on video

WESTPORT - Police say they are investigating a break-in at Sam Sloat Coins on Post Road in Westport this morning.

Westport police say surveillance video shows two men using rocks to break the front window just before 3 a.m.

Officers say the suspects went inside, discovered the targeted cases were empty and left in less than a minute, without taking anything.

The owner of Sam Sloat says it's not the first time someone has broken in, which is why the store has a sophisticated security and surveillance system.

Police say both men were wearing gloves, but they recovered some evidence.
