MILFORD - The mother of a Milford murder victim is outraged after a brick memorializing her son went missing.

Ryan Simpson, 19, was fatally stabbed during a fight in his basement back in 2010. His family could not afford a headstone and burial, so the teen was cremated.

Family members say the brick is the only physical memory of Simpson, and has served as a spot to grieve and remember.

Milford city officials have agreed to replace the brick and cover the cost. However, relatives say they are not excusing the theft and still want the original brick returned.

The convicted killer was sentenced to 17 years behind bars.
