BRIDGEPORT - The Bridgeport Animal Shelter says it's crowded as a result of the tornado that hit the city last week.

Officials say they've taken in about 20 pets from people who were displaced.

The shelter says it will care for the animals as long as the owners are in temporary housing.

Right now, the shelter has all of its 80 kennels full but says it can split them into two in order to house twice as many animals.
