Bridgeport attempted burglary suspect caught on tape

BRIDGEPORT - Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect who attempted to burglarize an apartment on Amsterdam Avenue in Bridgeport last month.

Investigators say the victim's home surveillance system showed the suspect in action while trying to break in.

In the video, police say a few people are seen scoping out the apartments.  Then, police say one suspected thief targets the first-floor apartment.

Officers are reminding residents that a home security system is a good idea.  They say although it may not prevent a burglary, it can still be instrumental in the burglary investigation.

Police are urging anyone who may recognize the man in the video to call them at 203-576-8126.
