BRIDGEPORT - After two separate reports of suspicious packages in Bridgeport this weekend, police officials say all is well in the city.

Officials say they were called to Fairfield Avenue and Brewster Street just before midnight last night, but police say it was a false alarm.

The state police bomb squad was called Friday night for a report of a suspicious package near the corner of Atlantic and Russell streets. It was found across the street from two gas tanks, prompting officials to temporarily shut down local train and ferry service.

Officials say the package turned out to be a plastic briefcase filled with sand.
