BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport police say an 8-year-old boy is recovering after he was struck by an SUV.

Police say the boy was hit while walking with his sister near Madison and Lincoln avenues yesterday afternoon.

They say the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Officers say the boy was taken to the hospital with a leg injury, but is expected to be OK.
