BRIDGEPORT - A public forum was held last night in Bridgeport to discuss the controversial issue of the Boy Scouts lifting its ban on gays.

Many who support the ban on gays entering the organization say that it is part of their tradition. Others who wish the ban would be lifted say they want the organization to encourage equality.

Local scout leaders say hundreds of other councils in the country are also discussing the issue. National leaders are expected to make a final decision on the ban in the next few months.
