Bridgeport businessman Joe Palmieri Jr. wants marijuana license

BRIDGEPORT - A business owner in Bridgeport is hoping to become one the first people in the state to become licensed to grow medical marijuana.

Joe Palmieri Jr. of Connecticut Tank Removal says he has designed a special pod where he can grow the drug.

Right now he is growing tomato plants.

Palmieri says it is a hydroponic system inside a shipping container so he can control the climate and keep it secure.

A legislative committee approved many regulations for medical marijuana this week, but there is no word on when the state will start issuing permits.
