BRIDGEPORT - Mayor Bill Finch's policy allowing residents to raise chickens within city limits is now under review by the Bridgeport City Council.

Finch has already given one family permission to move their chickens to city-owned property where they're able to harvest their chicken's eggs.

The Toole family says Mayor Finch allows them to keep not only their chickens, but also donkeys, goats and rabbits as an experiment. The family says they want to turn the property into a community farm.

They say the mayor is hoping more urban farms will help develop the city.

Councilwoman Lydia Martinez is calling for a public hearing and possibly a committee of experts to take a look at the proposed policy.
