BRIDGEPORT - City officials and parents demanded that a Bridgeport principal be terminated from her position at a public hearing tonight after she allegedly used physical force to discipline a child.
Carmen Perez-Dickson has been on paid leave since she was caught on camera allegedly manhandling a kindergarten student at Tisdale School.
An attorney for Perez-Dickson says that her actions were appropriate for the situation. She says the school board does not prohibit, but rather makes physical force an option when necessary.
The Bridgeport Board Of Education hopes hearings will be completed by the end of the week. A decision regarding Perez-Dickson’s future with the school will then be determined.
