Mayor Bill Finch says he believes it is his duty to help kids who are in need as long as the government foots the bill and it does not take anything away from the children of Bridgeport.

BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport leaders are looking into temporarily housing immigrant children in the U.S. illegally in the Park City.

Gov. Dannel Malloy recently rejected a request by the federal government to take in 2,000 children in Southbury.

Mayor Bill Finch says he believes it is his duty to help kids who are in need as long as the government foots the bill and it does not take anything away from the children of Bridgeport.

Stamford Mayor David Martin is also said to be looking into doing this as well.
