Bridgeport cop on way to Haiti to find family

BRIDGEPORT - A Bridgeport police officer who was born in Haiti is making his way back to his birthplace to find his family.

Jean Gaie says a cousin spoke with his father after the 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit, but his brother and two sisters are still missing. Waiting in Connecticut for news has become too agonizing to bear, Gaie says.

Gaie lived just outside Port-au-Prince for more than 22 years before moving to the states. He says he's not worried about finding food or water once in Haiti, but is more concerned with helping the local police force keep order while looking for his family.
