BRIDGEPORT - The Bridgeport farmer who was told by the city to dismantle his livestock operation sold his goats, pigs and chickens earlier this month.

As News 12 Connecticut previously reported, Christopher Toole threatened to slaughter his animals to feed his family after police told him his animals had to go. Authorities said many of the animals were either hurt or poorly fed.

Toole listed the goats, pigs and chickens for sale on Craigslist.

An animal rescue group then agreed to take any that did not sell.
