Bridgeport firefighters probe 2 early morning fires

Bridgeport firefighters are investigating two early morning fires in the city. No one was hurt in either of the two fires.

BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport firefighters are investigating two early morning fires in the city.

The first one started at around 2 a.m. at the Fireside Apartments on Highland Avenue. The fire began inside a trash compactor chute, and no one was hurt.

The second fire happened at vacant multi-family home on Road Street at around 2:40 a.m. A cause has yet to be determined, but investigators say it began on the building's second floor. No one was hurt in the fire.
