BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport firefighters are organizing a fundraiser for one of their colleagues who lost most of his belongings in a house fire earlier this week.

The event is scheduled to take place Monday at 5 p.m. at Fire Engine Pizza on Fairfield Avenue. Organizers say 10 percent of all purchases will be donated to Richard Minfield, who was among more than 24 people displaced Tuesday on Brooks Street.

The pizzeria's owner says he encourages fundraisers at his shop every Monday night.
