BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport city leaders opened the Haiti Relief Resource Office in the City Hall Annex Saturday.

Officials say the office will help Haitian immigrants in Connecticut reconnect with family members in Haiti, while also staying informed about the ongoing earthquake relief efforts.

Volunteers will work phones and Internet services to find family members that are missing. Pierre d'Haiti, the director of the center, says it will also help coordinate relief efforts for cities outside Port-au-Prince.

Through the center, Bridgeport is planning on adopting a city, such as Petionville, which has received less aid since the devastating quake.
