BRIDGEPORT - A Bridgeport homeowner spoke out Wednesday after he was fined $3,000 by the city's anti-blight program.

Gabriel Milord says he does not understand why his property is being hit with such a large fine when there are houses on his street that look worse.

The house, which is located at the corner of Maple and Kossuth Streets, is currently vacant.

Milord admits his property needs some work, but says he's been actively trying to renovate it.

He says he was able to get the fine reduced to $500.
