BRIDGEPORT - Residents of the P.T. Barnum housing project met with Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch Monday in hopes to increase fire safety.

After a young mother and her children were killed in a fire earlier this month, tenants voiced their concern that such a tragedy wouldn?t happen again. Upon meeting with the mayor, the group was assured that it could join a task force to come up with fire prevention tactics.

Nicholas Calace, of the Bridgeport Housing Authority, says the current task force is looking to replace apartment staircases and installing a sprinkler system inside the building.
