Bridgeport kids enjoy snow day

BRIDGEPORT - ? Kids in Bridgeport got the day off from school following a massive snowstorm that dumped more than a foot of snow in the area.

Fourth-grader Andre Gordon said he'd rather shovel and play in the snow then go to school. Andre said he was unsure if there would be school tomorrow, but he hoped there wouldn?t be.

Jorge Garcia, the facilities director for Bridgeport public schools, said whether or not schools would be closed tomorrow depended on how fast his crews could clear the schools? driveways, sidewalks and parking lots.

Garcia said even a foot and a half of snow wouldn?t deter his crews from their work.
