Faisal Shahzad, with homes in both Bridgeport and Shelton, was arrested before midnight Monday trying to board a flight to Dubai from JFK. He faces terrorism and weapons of mass destruction charges.

Police say he recently returned from a five-month trip to his native Pakistan. Shahzad, 30, had become a U.S. citizen about a year ago.

FBI crews swarmed Shahzad's home at 202 Sheridan St. early this morning and continued through the day. Residents of nearby homes were evacuated as crews searched the home. Authorities say they seized several items including a box of fireworks.

A neighbor says he saw FBI and homeland security officers coming in and out of the house with what looked like computers.

Several of the neighbors say Shahzad didn?t spent a lot of time at the home, but instead would come and go. They speculate he used this space as a type of workshop.
