NORWALK - A 25-year-old Bridgeport man is being remembered as a hard worker who was devoted to his family.

A close friend says Maikol Chumasero was taken off of life support this week after being involved in a car accident in Norwalk on Sunday night.

Police say Chumasero and a 32-year-old driver struck a tree at Eastwood and West Rocks roads. They say there were no other vehicles involved in the accident.

Both the driver and Chumasero were trapped in the car and rescuers had to cut them out. Chumasero was rushed to Norwalk Hospital, but his condition only worsened in the days that followed and his family finally decided to take him off of life support.

Police say the driver did not suffer life-threatening injuries and they are still investigating the cause of the accident.
