Bridgeport man sentenced for hit-and-run death

BRIDGEPORT - A Bridgeport man will spend four and a half years in prison for a hit-and-run that killed a 17-month-old boy.

Christian Hicks, 28, pleaded no contest in March to evading responsibIlity for the June 2009 crash.

Hicks was was sentenced to 10 years, suspended after four-and-a-half years in prison and three years of probation.

Witnesses said Hicks' car sped through an intersection and hit an SUV carrying four people, including the toddler.

Police say Hicks even changed his appearance to avoid being caught.
