A study released earlier this week by the Office of Revenue Analysis claims Bridgeport residents have the highest tax burden in the nation. (2/19/14)

BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch is disputing a new report that claims city residents have the highest tax burden in the nation.

The study was released earlier this week by the Office of Revenue Analysis of the government of the District of Columbia.

It claims that a family of three earning $75,000 a year would pay more than $16,000 in taxes.

Finch calls the report misleading and inaccurate.

He claims it relies on flawed information from the rest of Fairfield County, which inflates both income and home values for the average city resident.
