BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch is pushing for stronger gun control laws in the wake of a drive-by shooting that landed a 3-year-old girl in the hospital. Finch says that illegal weapons need to be taken off the streets. The victim's aunt and grandmother also protested the potential opening of a nearby liquor store. They say the business will likely add more crime to an already hostile situation. The girl had been listed in critical condition, but detectives say she is stable and recovering. The family says she had to have part of her colon removed. Investigators say 20-year-old Anthony Small was also hit in the hand and that he might have been the intended target.
