A Bridgeport police officer is recovering after an SUV going the wrong way slammed into his cruiser.Police say the driver was on State Street when

BRIDGEPORT - A Bridgeport police officer is recovering after an SUV going the wrong way slammed into his cruiser.

Police say the driver was on State Street when he collided with a sergeant's cruiser, as he was responding to the call.

Police say the sergeant suffered non life-threatening injuries.

They say the other driver was not wearing a seat belt and was severely hurt. He will face charges when he is released from hospital.
