BRIDGEPORT - City of Bridgeport officials are still trying to determine the cause of Wednesday's massive house fire.

Fire officials say the blaze at 181 Poplar St. was one of the largest they've seen in years. Four police officers ran into the home to make sure no one was inside, and ended up hospitalized for smoke inhalation. The officers have since been released.

Police said Wednesday that they had reason to believe the fire was started by fireworks, but have yet to release any confirmation.

Meanwhile, the Red Cross is helping support the three families displaced from the home.
